Would it be possible to change the graphics on the Black Belt Stripes to resemble the typical Kenpo-Look?

1-4. Dan is 1-4 Stripes
5 Dan is one red Bar (like the Red Bar on a BJJ Black Belt)
6-9 is one Bar and an additional 1-4 Stripes
10. Dan is 2 red bars...

Just a cool little detail...

How many 11ths do you see running around? (Legit question)
Hmm... thought I added a smiley and a comment that I was "just kidding" with my reply... but ok... hopefully I will never see any - but to be honest I am afraid that somebody will establish this rank for himself at any given point in time for "ego" reasons...

It’s already happened actually. 11, 12, and Chow was 15th. The bujinkan goes up to 15th publicly.

It's unfortunate that it may not be possible. How ever (and i'm not a technical guy), at the BJJ checker it is possible in an other way (https://www.beltchecker.c[...]hp?id=9001 for example). Looks like there must be a way to create this (at the end, that's how we work with black degree's in Kenpo).

I think the comparison between styles is no good... its hard enough to compare the same style in different Associations!

Take the Rank of 10th Dan for example.
In Judo (an Art that was founded in 1882 already!) only fifteen people have been promoted to 10th dan by the original School / Association (Kōdōkan) with only three beeing promoted by the founder himself (before 1938) In 1965 the "last Ju-Dan" of the first seven 10th-Dans died... - after this "reset" there were only 8 new 10th Dans were given.

Now look at the relatively "new" Art of Kenpo (where the "founding" would be around the 40s if you go as far back as Mitose - 60s if you use Parker as the "Founder"...) ... and count the numer of "10th Dans" - and thats with the founder only promoting two people to 9th Dan (Elvis and Nick Cerio... - and I dont think that Elvis can really be counted ;) ) and the next senior Ranks all were 7th.
So all the 10th Dans in Kenpo (Parker Lineage) have been given AFTER December 15, 1990... thats roughly 30 years for the current number of 10th vs almost 130 years for 15 Kodokan 10th Dans... or only 8 since 1965...

No, I just don`t see how Rank can be compared across various arts in ANY possible way... ;)

Kalihi Griffin and several others were promoted by Parker to 8th, 9ths over the years. Notably all of the ones above the 12 recognized 7ths under Parker used the smaller certificate and were acknowledgements rather than promotions of personal students.
Dave Hebler is the only Parker 7th to have been promoted using the smaller certificate, as Edmund had not yet created the larger full color diploma of which Tom Kelly was the first recipient followed by Chuck Sullivan.

All true - I did not Include any of the 8th like Toru Tanaka/Charlie Kalani or Kalaii Griffin since I was not trying to make a point in who got promoted when (and I have not heared of anyone besides Cerio and Presley beeing given a 9th by parker, no matter if honorary or otherwise... but always happy to learn more!) :)

My point is:
There were no 10th Dans given by Parker prior to his passing, some honorary 8th/ 9ths and "only" 7th from a direct student perspective (some lists say 7 some say 12 some go up to 17... - but this would probably be a topic for a differnt thread - maybe I ll start one later... ;) ), and probably there never would have been, if the 10th were to be sole right of the founder...
In Judo - as a comparison, there have been three 10ths given out by the founder during his lifetime.

Looking at the number of 10ths in both arts today and relating it to the status quo at the passing of Kano/parker, I am merely pointing out that there is no comparisson possible! I am not judging either development either - there is pro and con with any system of Ranking and what it represents.
All I am doing is showing how it is not possible to compare Ranks and Degrees across various Arts.

I totaly agree with you Philipp. Don't get me wrong, my intention was not to encourage that. The comment I was more to point out that it technically should be possible to arrange other "pictures" of belts in the system. It wasn't meant to let them be the same as in other arts. I hope this will be technical possible in the near future.
